Oscar worthy Popcorn!
The 86th Academy Awards 2014 are this coming Sunday evening. Movie stars will walk the Red Carpet in Hollywood for the chance to win an Oscar for their role in a motion picture. I’ve always loved watching the awards, not just to see what stars and motion pictures win in their category, but to see my favorite movie stars and what they’re wearing. Lets face it, they are all dressed to the 9s and draped in jewels from Harry Winston to those not so famous jewelers and designers.
As I snuggle up on the sofa I often find myself wanting to munch on something with all the excitement! If you’re like me, then I’ve got a special treat to share with you – Truffled Popcorn with All Natural Butter Flavored Olive Oil. This popcorn will win an Oscar at your party! The flavor is mellow with the hint of butter, (yet, it’s heart healthy olive oil) and drizzled with the earthy taste of Truffle Salt. It’s addicting!
Last night I surprised my family with a bowl to get their impression. I had it ready prior to dinner and I practically had to yank it away so they’d eat the meal I prepared. This huge bowl didn’t have a kernel of corn left in it, as they devoured the rest after we’d finished our meal.
Whether you’ll be snuggled up on your sofa, in bed, or having an Oscar Party, you owe it to yourself to make this OSCAR WORTHY POPCORN!
I have a Whirley Pop that I used to pop my popcorn, which you can also find on Amazon. However, you can simply place your popcorn in a paper bag, seal the bag, then microwave, air pop it, or whatever you prefer.
There are so many wonderful dishes I’ve served in the past on Oscar night, but nothing beats the simplicity of this gourmet popcorn. If you’re a fan of Truffles please give this a try, and let me know what you think.
Here’s the recipe:
Oscar Worthy Truffled Popcorn with All Natural Butter Flavored Olive Oil
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 Tbsp. All Natural Butter Flavored Olive Oil plus extra for drizzling (also sold at Olive Oil stores worldwide)
- Truffle & Salt from Williams Sonoma (also sold at fine grocers)
Directions:
- If using a popcorn popper - place olive oil in the popper, then add popcorn.
- Cover and pop until popping subsides.
- Remove from heat and pour into a large bowl.
- Drizzle lightly with All Natural Butter Flavored Olive and mix (this will help the Truffle Salt to adhere to the popcorn).
- Sprinkle with Truffle Salt to your liking and blend all together.
- Serve.
Will you be watching the Oscars Sunday evening? If so, who are you hoping will win an award?
Oh yeah, right, the Oscars! Red carpet, popcorn and drinks…can’t wait! Thanks for a tasty remainder! 🙂 ela
Sorry for the delayed response. Hope you enjoyed the Oscars and I hope you tried my Truffled Popcorn.
Delicious! Love the truffle salt.
Blend it with the butter flavored olive oil and it’s to die for!
I didn’t even know there was butter-flavored olive oil! But I don’t get out much. 😉 Love the truffle salt — terrific idea for popcorn. We make popcorn a lot (microwave method) and this sounds great. Thanks.
The two combined make it so gourmet. You have to try it.
Oh my goodness Vicki, this popcorn sounds amazing. That’s so funny that your family gobbled this up before dinner. It sounds just wonderful, I think I might have made another bowl and called that one “dinner”. 🙂
Since this post my kids have made it on their own several times. My son came by the house to make some and then took it back to his place. That’s how good it is. You should try some.
I love to watch the Oscar’s too although we don’t get to watch them until Monday night (they are live during the day while everyone is at work). I too love to see all the glamour. This is a simple recipe but I love how you’ve dressed up the popcorn with truffle salt – I bet the aroma of the salt being sprinkled on the hot popcorn is wonderful xx
I think it’s both the butter flavored olive oil that coats the popcorn, then sprinkled with the truffle salt so that it can stick to the popcorn makes this a sensational and gourmet popcorn. I hope you’ll try it.
Ooooh I am so making these for Sunday!!! 😀
Cheers

Sorry for the delayed response but I hope if you tried this on Sunday you loved it. Please let me know.
I can’t wait for the oscars!! Definitely want to try making this popcorn!
I hope you enjoy it when you do make it.
Popcorn is our Sunday afternoon movie snack. Next time I’m definitely going to toss it with some truffle salt! Sounds delicious!
Don’t forget to add the natural butter flavored olive oil that coats the popcorn so the truffle salt will stick to it. If not a slight drizzle of olive oil will help. Let me know what you think.
