How To Make A Delicious Heart-Healthy Green Smoothie

When the weather gets warmer do you find yourself craving more fresh fruits and vegetables?  I know I do!  In fact, right before I go out for a run or bike ride I love to make this luscious and nutritious green smoothie.

Don’t turn your nose up until you’ve tried it.  After sharing this recipe in many of my culinary classes, I’ve literally turned 100% of the “oh I don’t think I want to try a green smoothie” comments to, “is there enough for seconds?”

In this brief video I’ll show you how to make this simple emerald green smoothie using my Vitamix blender.  For written instructions you can view a previous post.

If you try this, please let me know what you think.  Do you have a green smoothie recipe you’d like to share? Please post it in my comments section for everyone to see.

Nothing makes you feel better than when you nourish your body from the inside out.  I even turned my 91 year old mother onto this beverage.  If she loves it, you will too!

Enjoy life to the fullest by eating well, exercising, laughing and spending time with those you love and who make you happy.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Hello! You have a very nice blog! I invite you to visit my blog and / or follow you, hope you like it frosted glass Greetings and … congratulations!

  2. I won’t turn my nose up Vicki because I love green smoothies and spinach is one of my favorite leafy green.I add hemp seeds to make it creamy and more nutritious instead of banana.

  3. I rarely turn up my nose at any kind of food! I rarely make smoothies, but have had the green ones – they’re great! Although I usually just prefer to eat all the ingredients as they are – more texture, and because it actually takes longer to eat them than drink them, I fell full sooner. But of course a smoothie is better if you need to make something to eat (drink!) on the run. Anyway, good stuff – thanks.

  4. I’ve had some good green smoothies and I’ve had some not so good ones (the ones I made). Thanks for the video – I’m going to have to give it another try!

    • I think you’ll like this. If there’s an ingredient you don’t like add what you love. That’s the great thing about smoothies, they’re very versatile.

  5. I just bought myself a Vitamix and haven’t used it yet…I think this drink will be my first try! It sounds delicious!
